وَمَا مَنَعَ ٱلنَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ قُبُلًا
"Dan tiada yang menghalang manusia daripada beriman, ketika datang petunjuk Al-Quran kepada mereka, dan daripada memohon ampun kepada Tuhan mereka, melainkan (kerana kedegilan mereka dan kerana mereka) menunggu didatangi azab yang memusnahkan yang telah menimpa orang-orang dahulu, atau di datangi azab yang dilihat dan dihadapi."
"Dan tidak ada sesuatu pun yang menghalangi manusia dari beriman ketika petunjuk telah datang kepada mereka dan memohon ampun kepada Tuhan-nya, kecuali (keinginan menanti) datangnya hukum (Allah yang telah berlalu pada) umat-umat yang dahulu, atau datangnya azab atas mereka dengan nyata."

55. Dan tidak ada (sesuatu pun) yang menghalangi manusia untuk beriman ketika petunjuk telah datang kepada mereka dan memohon ampunan kepada Tuhannya, kecuali (keinginan menanti) datangnya hukum (Allah yang telah berlaku pada) umat yang terdahulu atau datangnya azab atas mereka dengan nyata.
"Nothing prevents people from believing when guidance comes to them and from seeking forgiveness from their Lord except that the fate of the earlier nations should come to them, or that the punishment should come before their eyes."
"(55) And nothing has prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them and from asking forgiveness of their Lord except that there [must] befall them the [accustomed] precedent of the former peoples[794] or that the punishment should come [directly] before them."
"55. And nothing prevents men from believing, (now) when the guidance (the Qur’ân) has come to them, and from asking Forgiveness of their Lord, except that the ways of the ancients be repeated with them (i.e. their destruction decreed by Allâh), or the torment be brought to them face to face?"
当正道来临众人的时候，他们不信道，也不向他们的主求饶，那只是因为他们要等待（安拉将）古人的常道显现于他们，或眼见刑罚来临他们。

"और जब लोगों के पास मार्गदर्शन आ गया, तो उन्हें ईमान लाने और अपने पालनहार से क्षमा याचना करने से केवल इस बात ने रोका कि उनको भी पहले लोगों जैसा मामला पेश आ जाए या यातना उनके सामने आ खड़ी हो।"
55. மனிதர்களிடம் நேரான வழி வந்ததன் பின்னர் அவர்கள் அதை நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு தங்கள் இறைவனிடம் மன்னிப்புக் கோருவதைத் தடை செய்வதெல்லாம் முன்சென்றவர்களுக்கு நிகழ்ந்த(தைப் போன்ற அபாயகரமான) சம்பவம் இவர்களுக்கு நிகழவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக அல்லது இவர்கள் (கண்) முன் நம் வேதனை வரவேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்தான்.
இன்னும், மக்களுக்கு நேர்வழி வந்தபோது (அதை ஏற்று) அவர்கள் நம்பிக்கை கொண்டு, அவர்களுடைய இறைவனிடம் பாவமன்னிப்புக் கோருவதை விட்டும் அவர்களைத் தடுக்கவில்லை, முன்னோரின் நடைமுறை அவர்களுக்கு வருவதை; அல்லது, கண்முன் (வெளிப்படையாக, திடீரென) தண்டனை அவர்களுக்கு வருவதை (அவர்கள் எதிர்பார்ப்பதே) தவிர.
തങ്ങള്ക്കു മാര്ഗദര്ശനം വന്നുകിട്ടിയപ്പോള് അതില് വിശ്വസിക്കുകയും, തങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിനോട് പാപമോചനം തേടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് ജനങ്ങള്ക്ക് തടസ്സമായത് പൂര്വ്വികന്മാരുടെ കാര്യത്തിലുണ്ടായ അതേ നടപടി അവര്ക്കും വരണം അല്ലെങ്കില് അവര്ക്ക് നേരിട്ട് ശിക്ഷ വരണം എന്ന അവരുടെ നിലപാട് മാത്രമാകുന്നു.(24)
૫૫. અને જ્યારે લોકો પાસે હિદાયત આવી ગઈ તો પછી તેમને ઇમાન લાવવા અને પોતાના પાલનહાર સામે માફી માંગવામાં ફકત તે જ વસ્તુએ રોક્યા કે આગળના લોકો સાથે જેવું થયું તેવું અમારી સાથે થાય, અથવા તેમની સમક્ષ ખુલ્લો અઝાબ આવી જાય.
మరియు వారి ముందుకు మార్గదర్శకత్వం వచ్చినప్పుడు, దానిని విశ్వసించకుండా మరియు తమ ప్రభువు సన్నిధిలో క్షమాభిక్ష కోరకుండా ఉండటానికి వారిని ఆటంక పరిచిందేమిటి! వారి పూర్వీకుల మీద పడిన (ఆపద) వారి మీద కూడా పడాలనో, లేదా ఆ శిక్ష ప్రత్యక్షంగా వారిపైకి రావాలనో వేచి ఉండటం తప్ప?
لوگوں کے پاس ہدایت آچکنے کے بعد انہیں ایمان ﻻنے اور اپنے رب سے استغفار کرنے سے صرف اسی چیز نے روکا کہ اگلے لوگوں کا سا معاملہ انہیں بھی پیش آئے(1) یا ان کے سامنے کھلم کھلا عذاب آموجود ہوجائے.(2)
